Radha Rangarajan and Suchi Govindarajan smiling together in the back seat of a car

Radha Rangarajan & Suchi Govindarajan

We’re old friends, brought together by a shared love of trees and wildlife, books and Bangalore! We are firm believers in the supremacy of filter coffee and masala puri.

After years of working, writing and travelling together, we decided to join forces and tell the city’s stories in the language we know best: that of nature.

What walkers say

From people who've walked with us

The way Radha tailored the walk to observe small things—flowers in bloom, seed pods—made the overall experience very engaging. Her storytelling made it possible to absorb information without feeling overwhelmed. Her walk gives you so many ideas for observing nature in everyday surroundings.

Loved Suchi’s engaging and eloquent descriptions of the trees. The pictorial aids gave a graphic understanding of the tree origins. The leisurely, unhurried pace made it rather pleasant and enjoyable. Suchi does a fabulous job of demystifying trees. It is a lovely way to instill pride among citizens about Bengaluru’s natural heritage.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

How long is each walk?

Each walk is 2 hours long and covers 1 to 2 km, at a slow, unhurried pace.

How many people are on a walk?

Our walks are for small groups of up to 20 people.

Can I bring my child along?
  • Yes, we usually charge 50% of the walk price for children aged 10 to 15
  • Children below 10 can attend for free
  • All children should be accompanied by a paying adult throughout the walk duration
Can I bring my child in a pram or stroller?

We’re sorry, but we’d rather you did not. Bangalore’s roads and pavements can be uneven, broken or crowded in places, and that’s sadly out of our control. We wouldn’t want you struggling with a pram while trying to enjoy the walk.

Can I book a walk privately for my group?

Yes. Every walk on our list can be booked privately for families, groups of friends, corporate teams, visiting groups and more. Our tree walks can be done anywhere in the city.

Which areas do your walks cover?

We do our walks all over the city. That's the best thing about trees—they have branches everywhere. If you live in a green street or neighbourhood, let us know and we'll plan a walk for you!

Where do we meet?

We'll send you the details when you book.

What should I wear or bring?
  • Closed walking shoes
  • Sunscreen
  • A bottle of water
  • A hat
  • Long trousers if you have allergies
  • Any medication you need
  • An umbrella if it looks rainy
  • A curious mind!
What happens if it rains?

In Bangalore, rain is usually light or intermittent in the mornings. It doesn't usually stop us from walking. If there is a storm forecast, we will take a call on the day and let you know.

What if I need to cancel?

We're unable to offer refunds, but if you let us know by email at least 24 hours before the walk begins, you can join another upcoming walk within six months, or pass your spot to someone else. See our Terms & Conditions for details.

Can I bring my pet?

We'd love to meet your pets, but we're afraid they can't join us on our walks.
